There was a 5 minute standing ovation before the show opened when her name was announced. Lots of love in that room.

I often find Madonna's live performances are so much better than the broadcast versions. Madonna's is an artist and a performer, not just a singer.

To the naysayers: Didn't we at least learn from Prince's death how sad it is that we don't appreciate our artists' legacies until they're gone? You can bitch about Madonna all you want, but the fact remains that with Michael Jackson and Prince now gone she is *the only one of the Holy Trinity of the 80's left standing.* At the very least give her the respect in that regard.

This was actually recorded on Friday July 4, 2014. I was there along with my brother. It was my 9th and unfortunately final time seeing Prince in concert while it was my brother's FIRST and ONLY Prince concert. The lineup was awesome. Janelle Monae and Nile Rogers w/Chic were the opening acts while Doug E Fresh kept the party going in between acts. Imagine over 70K people at a concert partying and doing the Wobble Wobble while we wait for the next act. And, Prince, of course would hop onstage with his opening acts, sending the crowd into a fever pitch frenzy before he would close the night with a 2hr set that blew the roof off the Mercedes Superdome in New Orleans.

That was exactly why dove cry. Madonna sang as horrible as she looks. Aside from the fact she completely missed the point of throwing shade (oh, the irony of attempting to stay relevant) it was well know that Prince detested her and it's an insult to the artist and his legacy that she 'honored' him when he idolized so many other artists above her.
